Back in the 5.25" floppy era computer classes were offered for the first time at our high school. One of the teachers was an art school grad--very confident and very outspoken. The major problem in the PC lab was viruses, and we didn't have any antivirus program back then. One morning, mister art teacher came to class very excited and told us he's going to demonstrate how to get rid of the viruses in our floppies. The steps are: (1) Remove the back flap of the disk to expose the media inside. (2) remove the media and wash it with tap water. (3) Let it dry, and replace it back in the floppy cover. (4) Tape the flap to seal it.
Computers weren't that mainstream at that time so this excusable. Last thing I heard was he attended a few computer courses and became a successful computer teacher.
