I work as a Macintosh I.T Technician in a Media department. Most of our students
are intelligent enough to use macs, but we do have some students (mainly Art
Students) who havent a clue what theyre doing. One example i can remember
fondly is when a woman downloaded a 200x200 14k GIF picture of a New York
skyline to use for her art project. SOMEHOW she managed to expand this 200x200
picture to the width and height of 35 A3 pieces of paper. She printed this immense
image to our print server which recorded an 8gb print spool file. Not only did it
print these 35 massive pages, but in the process it managed to crash our fragile
old mac server rendering the entire faculty computer system dead.
Well done! And of course the pictures came out as one big pixel. Thats what
happens when u stretch a thumbnail sized image to the size of a small house!!
