About 15 years ago I was supporting a Mac enviroment at a teriary institution and people were endlessly banging on about lack of storage space.
I cracked and said:
"Use a smaller font then, it won't take up so much hard disk."
This tip spread like wildfire and the downside was
"my printing is not right" or "my eyes hurt" - as they would with 8pt Times.
How to recover? Fess up to the boss and get him to purchase a defrag tool and individually make things right with each user by defragging the disk and telling them that since the storage space was being optimised they should use regular font sizes.
