I do tech support for a newspaper, which means a lot of working with fairly technically inept journalists. Some of them just take the biscuit though. I got passed a call tonight to look at this guy's PC as it had completely locked up on him 3 or 4 times today. My colleague who passed me the call thought it would probably be a hardware fault, but a simple diagnostic check found nothing. I decided to bring the PC down to my desk for more testing, and that was when I discovered it was sitting in a small lake of coffee. Further investigation revealed coffee all down the front & sides of the box, seeped into the CD drive, and into the hard drive connections as well. Somehow the user had forgotten to mention this might be a cause of his problem.
