Today is November 22nd, Tomorrow is November 23rd, Thanksgiving in the U.S., this is a national holiday. Our office like many other places of business that do not sell food or entertainment or medicine is closed.
I am responsible for scheduling training appointments with our clients and our techs. I just got off of the phone with a client that insisted that they get training on Thanksgiving.
Now if this was one of our many international clients I could see them not knowing or understanding about why we are closed on Thanksgiving. But this was someone from the U.S. (they were in OHIO for gawds sake!)
Anyway I was going through the speel about how the next avaliable appointment was Tuesday the 28th (I was all booked on Manday). Well this was not good enough for her, she wanted it today. I explained how number one for absolutely no reason will we EVER make an appointment for "Today" that all appointments must be booked 24-48 hour in advance. And that two, we had no appointments avaliable anyhow so we would have to schedule the appointments for next week.
She insists that she has to have it this week. So I explain to her that we are closed thursday and friday and will not be able to give her an appointment until next week. She gets mad and says she doesn't see why we would be closed Thurs and Fri after all they are week days we have no business being closed on weekdays.
At this point I reminder her that tomorrow is Thanksgiving and that it is a national holiday and that we are closed in observance of the holiday.
She starts cursing me and telling me that she paid for service and she expects to get it. She demands that one of our techs be there on thanksgiving so that she can get her training.
What part of "no" didn't she understand?
